Job Description

We're seeking an innovative Urban Planner to join our Johannesburg team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing urban spaces that balance environmental sustainability with community needs. You should have a solid understanding of urban planning principles and a passion for improving city living.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate urban planning proposals and provide recommendations.
• Collaborate on interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive project approaches.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of urban planning trends and policies.
• Develop strategies for sustainable transportation within urban areas.
• Support environmental assessments for proposed projects.
• Prepare detailed planning documents for project approval processes.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning or related field
• Master's degree in Sustainable Planning is preferred

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in urban planning or development

Certifications

• Chartered Member of the Planning Institute

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic
