Plating Technician

Job Description

The Plating Technician will be responsible for applying plating materials to metal surfaces, ensuring a protective or decorative finish. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work with various plating processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and clean metal surfaces for plating.
• Operate and maintain plating equipment efficiently.
• Mix and monitor plating solutions for optimal results.
• Conduct quality checks on plated components throughout the process.
• Ensure all safety protocols are followed to maintain a safe working environment.
• Assist in the development of plating processes that improve efficiency.
• Document daily production records and ensure accurate reporting.
• Adapt to changes in production requirements with flexibility.

Requirements

Education

• Matric certificate or equivalent
• Technical qualification in related field preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years in a plating or manufacturing environment.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of health and safety regulations
• Ability to read technical drawings

Soft Skills

• Team player
• Ability to work independently

Advantageous

• Experience in using electroless plating processes: Knowledge of innovative plating techniques that do not require electricity.
• Training abilities: Capable of mentoring new technicians and providing effective on-the-job training.
