Job Description

We are on the lookout for an AI Research Engineer to join our dynamic team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of machine learning algorithms and a passion for advancing AI technologies. You will be tasked with developing and implementing state-of-the-art AI systems that solve real-world problems.

Responsibilities

• Research and prototype new algorithms for specific applications.
• Collaborate with product teams to align research with business goals.
• Implement best practices for AI model testing and validation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify requirements and project goals.
• Contribute to open-source AI projects and community discussions.
• Improve existing models based on performance metrics and user feedback.
• Participate in code reviews to support team development processes.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence is a plus

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in AI/ML projects
