Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Draughtsperson to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical design and drafting, and will work closely with our engineering team to develop high-quality technical drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop original mechanical designs and modifications.
• Work alongside other departments to ensure seamless project integration.
• Analyze design processes for efficiency improvements.
• Provide technical support to production teams for implementation of designs.
• Maintain organized electronic and paper files of all drawings and revisions.

Requirements

Education

• National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in mechanical drafting or design

Technical Skills

• AutoCAD
• SolidWorks
• Mechanical Design Principles

Soft Skills

• Attention to Detail
• Communication

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of manufacturing processes: Experience with processes like machining, welding, and assembly.
• Familiarity with industry standards: Understanding of ISO and ASTM standards as they relate to mechanical design.
