Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our Pretoria office. In this role, you will assess risks, recommend coverage options, and contribute to our commitment to customer satisfaction and excellence.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough risk analysis to support underwriting decisions.
• Determine policy terms and conditions based on underwriting guidelines.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve underwriting issues.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior underwriters.
• Facilitate communication between clients, agents, and the underwriting team.
• Assess and respond to underwriting queries from stakeholders.
• Review policy documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Stay informed about changes in legislation relevant to underwriting practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Business Administration or a related field
• Advanced studies in insurance or risk management is advantageous

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in underwriting or related fields

Certifications

• Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU)
