Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Medical Transcriptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately transcribing medical reports and records into electronic formats, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Transcribe and format a variety of medical documents.
• Monitor quality and resolve discrepancies in transcriptions.
• Utilise speech recognition software efficiently.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding patient information.
• Support the ongoing development of transcription practices.

Requirements

Education

• Registered Medical Transcriptionist (RMT) certification
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field preferred

Experience

• 2-3 years of experience in medical transcription.

• Typing
• Medical Software Proficiency

• Attention to Detail
• Communication

Certifications

• Medical Coding Certification (advantageous)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Basic

• Experience with remote transcription: Familiarity with telecommuting practices in medical transcription.
