Job Description

As a Book Repairer, you will play a crucial role in the preservation of literary heritage. You will repair and restore books to their original glory, ensuring they are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Your attention to detail and passion for preservation will drive your success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed assessments of damaged books for restoration needs.
  • Implement advanced restoration techniques to enhance book durability.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace with all necessary tools.
  • Develop relationships with clients to better understand their needs.
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail in all repair tasks.
  • Stay updated on the latest conservation techniques and materials.
  • Provide guidance on the best practices for book care and preservation.
  • Assist in inventory management of restoration materials.

Requirements

Education
  • Certification in bookbinding, restoration, or conservation
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in library science or a related field is preferred
Experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in book repair and restoration
Technical Skills
  • Manual dexterity

Advantageous
