Occupational Therapist

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Occupational Therapist to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will work closely with clients to assess their needs and develop personalized treatment plans aimed at promoting independence and improving quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of clients' occupational performance.
• Develop effective therapeutic strategies to facilitate recovery.
• Deliver one-on-one and group therapy sessions.
• Work with families to address challenges in the home environment.
• Track and report on clients' progress and outcomes.
• Use evidence-based approaches to ensure best practices in therapy.
• Work collaboratively with support staff and provide mentorship.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy preferred
• HPCSA registration required

Experience

• 3+ years of clinical experience preferred

Technical Skills

• Rehabilitation Techniques
• Therapeutic Communication

• Adaptability

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Basic

Advantageous

• Experience in geriatric therapy: Background in providing therapy to older adults.
• Training in sensory integration: Specialized training for working with clients with sensory processing challenges.
