Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Geriatric Nurse to join our compassionate healthcare team in Cape Town. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care to elderly patients, focusing on their physical, emotional, and social well-being. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and a passion for working with seniors.

Responsibilities

  • Provide holistic nursing care to elderly patients in accordance with their specific needs.
  • Perform routine checks and administer treatments as prescribed.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary team meetings for effective care coordination.
  • Document patient care accurately in electronic health records.
  • Support patients in daily activities to enhance their quality of life.
  • Offer emotional support and guidance to families faced with challenges.
  • Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives.
  • Advocate for patient needs and preferences in care planning.
  • Stay updated on advancements in geriatric nursing and healthcare.

Requirements

Education
  • Registered Nurse qualification with a valid license
  • Postgraduate certification in Geriatric Nursing is advantageous
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in geriatric care
