Public Health Officer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Public Health Officer to join our team in Bloemfontein. You will be instrumental in planning, implementing, and evaluating public health projects. Your work will involve liaising with various stakeholders, conducting health assessments, and developing strategies to promote health education and disease prevention in the community.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with governmental and non-governmental organizations on health projects.
• Facilitate workshops and training sessions on health topics.
• Implement disease surveillance and response strategies.
• Assist in preparing funding proposals to support health initiatives.
• Promote community engagement in health programs for sustainability.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Public Health or related area
• Master's degree in Public Health preferred

Experience

• 5 years of public health experience, including community outreach

Certifications

• Public Health Preparedness Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Sesotho: Conversational

Advantageous

• Experience in community organizing: Proven ability to engage and mobilize community members for health activities.
