Tax Consultant

Job Description

Join our Cape Town office as a Tax Consultant, where you'll provide expert advice on various tax matters, including corporate tax, personal tax, and VAT. You will work closely with clients to ensure compliance and develop tax-efficient strategies tailored to their needs. A sound knowledge of South African tax laws and regulations is critical for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed financial analyses to advise clients on tax-efficient strategies.
• Assist with tax compliance projects and ensure timely filing of tax returns.
• Monitor changes in tax laws and their impacts on clients.
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients regarding tax-related inquiries.
• Support business development efforts by identifying potential clients.
• Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance expertise.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations for clients.
• Mentor junior team members on best practices in taxation.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Taxation, or related field
• Postgraduate qualification in Taxation is an advantage

Experience

• At least 5 years of experience in tax consultancy

Technical Skills

• Financial analysis skills
• Tax compliance software proficiency

Soft Skills

• Communication skills
• Problem-solving abilities

Certifications

• Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational
