Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a passionate Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Port Elizabeth. This role involves designing, testing, and overseeing mechanical systems and products. The successful candidate will have strong technical abilities combined with excellent communication skills to facilitate collaboration across various disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research to formulate new concepts for mechanisms and systems.
• Oversee the maintenance of mechanical equipment.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings to ensure design integration.
• Document all design processes and iterations accurately.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staff.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering is advantageous

Experience

• 5 years or more in a mechanical engineering role is preferred

Technical Skills

• Project Management Software
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

Soft Skills

• Communication skills
• Problem-solving

Advantageous

• Experience with HVAC systems: Operational knowledge of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
• Familiarity with ISO standards: Understanding of International Organization for Standardization standards relevant to engineering.
