Job Description

We are in search of a Cotton Breeder who will be responsible for developing and enhancing cotton varieties suited to our local growing environment. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with agronomists and researchers to ensure optimal seed development for our farmers.

Responsibilities

• Utilise advanced statistical methods for data analysis in plant breeding.
• Monitor and report on the impact of environmental factors on cotton growth.
• Collaborate with industry partners to enhance the cotton supply chain.
• Participate in workshops and conferences to upskill and share knowledge.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards in cotton production.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Plant Breeding, Genetics, Agronomy or related field
• PhD in a related field is advantageous

Experience

• Proven experience in a research or breeding setting

Technical Skills

• Molecular breeding techniques

Soft Skills

• Analytical thinking

Certifications

• Professional Agriculturalist Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
