The Public Health Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing health promotion strategies within the Durban community. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of public health practices and experience in community outreach.
Responsibilities
Create strategic plans for health promotion tailored to community needs.
Coordinate with schools to implement health programs for students.
Monitor and evaluate public health policies and their impact.
Draft grant proposals for funding health initiatives.
Conduct training sessions for health education facilitators.
Assist in the development of public health emergency plans.
Serve as a liaison between health organizations and the community.
Manage resources and budgets for health programs.
Report on health statistics and trends to stakeholders.
Advocate for health equity and access to services.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Promotion, or related field
Master's degree in Public Health is preferred
Experience
4+ years of relevant experience in community health or public health settings
