Accountant

Job Description

Join our dynamic team as an Accountant, where you'll be responsible for managing financial statements, payroll, budgeting, and audits. We seek an individual with a passion for numbers and detail-oriented mindset to uphold our high standards of accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures.
• Advise on cost control and budget optimization strategies.
• Prepare tax returns and ensure timely filing.
• Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes.
• Prepare and analyze trial balance, income statement, and other financial statements.
• Adhere to best practices in accounting and finance.
• Support the management team with financial insights.
• Establish and maintain working relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
• Perform ad-hoc financial analysis as needed.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Commerce
• Master's degree in Accounting or related field is a plus

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in a similar role

Technical Skills

• Account Reconciliation
• Accounting Software (e.g. Pastel, SAP)

Soft Skills

• Analytical Skills
• Teamwork

Certifications

• Chartered Accountant (CA(SA))
• CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with IFRS standards: Understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards.
• Knowledge of financial regulations: Strong understanding of applicable financial regulations and compliance.
