Social Worker

Job Description

As a Social Worker with our organisation, you will engage with diverse populations, addressing mental health issues, assisting with access to welfare services, and advocating for client needs. Must be able to work compassionately and effectively with clients from various backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake interviews and assessments.
• Develop comprehensive case management plans.
• Coordinate with community resources to provide client services.
• Monitor and evaluate client outcomes.
• Provide individual and group therapy sessions.
• Assist clients in navigating governmental service systems.
• Engage families in the treatment process.
• Provide training and support to junior staff members.
• Utilise evidence-based techniques in intervention.
• Advocate for social policy changes that benefit the community.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or Psychology
• Master's degree in Social Work is an advantage

Experience

• 3+ years of relevant experience in social work

• Assessment skills
• Advocacy skills

Soft Skills

• Team collaboration
• Problem-solving

Certifications

• Registered Social Worker with the South African Council for Social Service Professions
• Mental Health First Aid Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational

• Multilingual abilities: Ability to communicate in multiple languages is a plus.
