Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join our vibrant team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems and components for a variety of applications. This role requires innovative thinking and a solid engineering background to contribute to the development of user-focused solutions. Experience in mechanical design, along with proficiency in CAD software, is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and analysis of mechanical systems to ensure optimal functionality.
• Negotiate and coordinate with suppliers for materials and components.
• Support project planning and budgeting activities.
• Conduct root cause analysis of mechanical failures and implement corrective actions.
• Work on cross-disciplinary projects with electrical and software engineering teams.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Master's degree is preferred

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in related roles

Technical Skills

• AutoCAD
• Thermodynamics

Soft Skills

• Team Leadership
• Communication

Certifications

• Professional Engineering License (Pr Eng)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in project management software: Familiarity with tools like MS Project or Jira for project tracking and management.
