Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Durban. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, analysis, and project management. You will be responsible for developing and improving mechanical systems and ensuring they meet industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead design projects from concept through implementation.
• Perform engineering calculations and simulations to validate designs.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for sourcing components.
• Prepare and present design proposals to stakeholders.
• Mentor and assist junior team members in their work.
• Review and approve engineering drawings and specifications.
• Implement best practices for mechanical design and manufacturing.
• Ensure projects meet quality, timeline, and budget requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team.
• Participate in client meetings to discuss project updates and requirements.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred
• PhD in Engineering is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design or product development

• Lean Manufacturing Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with 3D Printing technologies: Hands-on experience with additive manufacturing techniques.
