Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and oversee engineering projects in Durban. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of mechanical systems, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, analysis, and testing of mechanical systems.
• Ensure all designs comply with industry regulations and client specifications.
• Create and maintain project timelines to meet deadlines.
• Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to procure necessary materials.
• Identify and resolve potential technical challenges during project development.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns in best practices and technical skills.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Thermodynamics
• Project Management Software

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Communication

Certifications

• Certified Mechanical Engineer (CME)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with robotics: Experience working with robotic systems and automation.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles: Understanding of Lean principles for optimizing production processes.
