Mining Engineer

Job Description

We're on the lookout for a dedicated Mining Engineer to join our team in Witbank. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of mining operations, with the ability to design, implement, and oversee mining plans that maximize efficiency while ensuring safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage mining projects from conception to completion.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost analysis for mining projects.
• Ensure compliance with legal and environmental regulations.
• Support the training and development of junior engineers and field staff.
• Evaluate and implement new mining technologies and equipment.
• Engage with stakeholders to ensure project transparency and community involvement.
• Assist in crisis management and incident reporting.
• Prepare and coordinate project budgets and timelines.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent
• Master's degree in Engineering is an asset

Experience

• 5-7 years of relevant experience in mining projects

Technical Skills

• Project Management Software (e.g., MS Project)
• Environmental Management

• Leadership

Certifications

• First Aid Certification
• Occupational Health and Safety Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous
