First-Line Supervisor of Production and Operating Workers

Job Description

We are seeking a First-Line Supervisor of Production and Operating Workers to manage daily dairy processing operations. The successful candidate will supervise a team, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate production operators to achieve daily production targets.
• Conduct regular safety audits and ensure all safety protocols are followed.
• Assist in developing training programs for staff on equipment and safety standards.
• Evaluate production data and make necessary adjustments to meet quality standards.
• Ensure all machinery is maintained in accordance with operational standards.
• Report any safety and quality issues immediately to management.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality assurance.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Dairy Technology or relevant qualification

Experience

• 5 years of experience in dairy production with supervisory experience preferred

Technical Skills

• HACCP Certification
• Health and Safety Regulations

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Organisational Skills

Certifications

• Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Certification

Languages

• Zulu: Conversational
• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Project Management Experience: Experience in managing projects within production environments.
• Fluency in Afrikaans: Ability to communicate in Afrikaans is advantageous.
