Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team in Durban. This role requires an understanding of sourcing strategies, vendor management, and contract negotiation to ensure timely procurement of goods. The ideal candidate will play a critical part in optimizing our purchasing processes and maintaining supplier relationships.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies that are innovative and cost-effective.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure quality and service levels.
• Analyze market trends and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers, ensuring best pricing.
• Collaborate with internal teams to understand and forecast procurement needs.
• Oversee procurement documentation and ensure compliance with policies.
• Monitor inventory levels and initiate orders to mitigate shortages.
• Conduct supplier audits to ensure compliance with company standards.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field
• Professional designation such as CIPS or similar is advantageous

Experience

• 3-5 years in procurement or purchasing role
