Job Description

Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Hygienist in Durban. Your responsibilities will range from cleaning teeth to educating patients on the importance of oral hygiene and preventative care.

Responsibilities

• Perform dental cleanings and polish teeth.
• Educate patients about oral health care and preventative strategies.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays).
• Assist the dentist during procedures as needed.
• Maintain patient records and documentation accurately.
• Monitor and manage patient comfort and provide reassurance.
• Keep the dental office and equipment sterilized and organized.
• Stay current on dental technology and hygiene techniques.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients.
• Contribute to a positive team environment.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Dental Hygiene or equivalent
• BSc in Dental Hygiene preferred

Experience

• 2+ years of experience as a Dental Hygienist is preferred

Technical Skills

• Dental Hygiene Techniques
• Radiography

• Communication
• Detail-oriented

Certifications

• Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational

Advantageous

• Experience with periodontal treatments: Knowledge of various periodontal care treatments is a plus.
• Familiarity with dental software: Experience with practice management software like Dentrix or similar.
