Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our talented team in Pretoria. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems and components. You will work closely with other engineers and clients to ensure that projects are completed on time and to specification. This role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot existing systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop innovative mechanical designs for new products.
• Liaise with suppliers and vendors for part sourcing.
• Test designs using simulation software to predict performance.
• Create prototypes and conduct field tests to gather data.
• Document design processes and modifications thoroughly.
• Assist in training junior engineers and interns.
• Monitor project development and adjust plans as necessary.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Master's degree is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering

Technical Skills

• CAD Software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
• Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics
• Prototype Testing

Soft Skills

Certifications

• Professional Engineer (PrEng)
• Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP)

Languages

• English: Fluent
