Urban Planner

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Urban Planner to join our Cape Town team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing urban designs, conducting land use analysis, and collaborating with stakeholders to create sustainable urban spaces that foster community wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Analyze demographic data to inform urban planning decisions.
• Assist in the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs).
• Provide technical guidance on urban planning policies and regulations.
• Monitor and evaluate ongoing urban projects for compliance.
• Identify opportunities for community development initiatives.
• Foster relationships with local businesses and organizations.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Geography, or related field
• Master's degree in Urban Planning preferred

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in urban planning or a related field

Technical Skills

• GIS Software
• Urban Design Principles

Soft Skills

• Communication
• Collaboration

Certifications

• Certified Urban Planner (CUP)
• SACPLAN Registration

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Conversational
