Job Description

We're looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Johannesburg. This role involves designing, analyzing, and improving mechanical systems, ensuring efficiency and safety in our engineering processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mechanical principles and experience with various engineering software.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems and components using CAD software.
• Perform simulations and stress analysis to validate designs.
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure manufacturability.
• Review and approve engineering documentation and proposals.
• Participate in project planning and progress meetings.
• Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
• Enhance product designs based on client feedback and testing results.
• Ensure all designs meet safety and regulatory standards.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering

Experience

• 5+ years of experience particularly in project management and product development

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• 3D printing technology

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Project Management

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic

Advantageous

• Knowledge of sustainable design principles: Familiarity with eco-friendly design practices.
• Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) tools: Understanding of PLM software to manage product data and workflows.
