Job Description

As an Urban Planner, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing urban development projects in Pretoria. You will work with communities, government officials, and private stakeholders to develop comprehensive plans that enhance urban environments. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sustainable development and demonstrate a strong ability to navigate the complexities of urban planning.

Responsibilities

  • Lead public engagements to discuss urban planning initiatives.
  • Coordinate with governmental organizations to align planning efforts with regulations.
  • Analyze demographic and environmental data to inform planning decisions.
  • Create visual representations of proposed plans for presentations to stakeholders.
  • Oversee environmental impact assessments related to urban development.
  • Establish partnerships with local businesses and community groups to enhance urban projects.
  • Document planning processes and maintain records for future reference.
  • Assist in the preparation of grant proposals for urban development funding.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions for municipal staff on urban planning topics.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field
  • Master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning is preferred
