Job Description

In our Johannesburg office, we are looking for a skilled Actuary who will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement actuarial principles in our projects. You will oversee risk assessments, manage data analytics, and ensure that our operations meet industry standards. Your role is crucial for guiding our business strategies and client solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze statistical data to assess risks and financial outcomes.
  • Collaborate with IT to enhance data management systems and tools.
  • Lead actuarial projects that inform the strategic direction of the organization.
  • Draft and review technical documentation and actuarial reports.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during regulatory assessments.
  • Present findings to executive management and recommend actionable insights.
  • Conduct experience studies and data analysis to improve actuarial models.
  • Evaluate the financial implications of changing regulatory frameworks.
  • Aid in designing pension and insurance products geared towards client needs.
  • Ensure accuracy and reliability of financial forecasts and analyses.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a related field
  • Completion of actuarial exams towards ASA or FSA status is preferred
Experience
  • 6+ years in the actuarial field with a focus on risk modeling and analysis
