Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and proactive Transit and Railroad Police Officer to enhance safety in our public transport systems. You will patrol and monitor assigned areas, ensuring the safety of all passengers and responding effectively to incidents.

Responsibilities

• Enforce safety regulations across public transport networks.
• Interact with passengers on safety protocols and procedures.
• Utilize surveillance technology to monitor and analyze incidents.
• Ensure compliance with safety legislation and organizational policies.
• Conduct risk assessments and recommend improvements.
• Actively participate in community safety initiatives.
• Report maintenance issues related to safety equipment.
• Provide first aid assistance when required.

Requirements

Education

• Matric or equivalent qualification

Experience

• 1-2 years of experience in security roles, preferably in transit or public safety

Technical Skills

• First Aid
• Report Writing

Soft Skills

• Situational Awareness
• Leadership

Certifications

• Valid PSIRA Grade C certificate

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic

Advantageous

• Multilingual skills: Ability to speak multiple local languages is beneficial.
• Experience in customer service: Background in customer-facing roles is advantageous.
