Maintenance Technician

Job Description

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the operational efficiency of our equipment and facilities by performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on various systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance as per established guidelines.
• Identify and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in machinery.
• Assist in the implementation of maintenance best practices.
• Monitor inventory levels and request replacement parts as needed.
• Provide training and mentorship to new maintenance staff.
• Compile reports on maintenance activities for management review.
• Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to all safety protocols.
• Work flexible hours to accommodate maintenance needs during production.

Requirements

Education

• N6 Engineering or equivalent qualification
• Additional certifications in HVAC or PLCs is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a maintenance role

Technical Skills

• Preventive maintenance planning
• Troubleshooting electrical circuits

Soft Skills

• Attention to detail
• Adaptability

Certifications

• HVAC Certification
• ISO 9001 Internal Auditor

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational

Advantageous

• Experience in HVAC systems: Hands-on experience with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
• Understanding of electrical schematics: Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
