Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our Durban office. This role involves reviewing applications, analyzing risk factors, and collaborating with agents to develop comprehensive insurance solutions.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial data to understand potential risks.
• Communicate underwriting decisions to clients and agents effectively.
• Maintain accurate records of underwriting decisions and rationales.
• Participate in training and professional development activities.
• Assist in implementing new underwriting software and systems.
• Provide mentorship to junior underwriters as needed.

Requirements

Education

• Relevant professional qualifications will be an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years in a similar role is preferred

• Insurance Regulation Knowledge

Certifications

• Fellow of the Insurance Institute of South Africa (FIISA)

Languages

• English: Fluent
