Insurance Underwriter

Job Description

As an Insurance Underwriter, you will assess risk by gathering information, analyzing data, and evaluating insurance applications. We look for an individual who can juggle multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy in their work. Previous experience in underwriting or a related field will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new applications for insurance coverage.
• Determine risk levels and recommend appropriate policy pricing.
• Communicate effectively with agents and insured parties.
• Document all details and decisions in the underwriting database.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of underwriting portfolio.
• Research new underwriting methods and stand-based practices.
• Provide underwriting analysis to assist in decision-making processes.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
• A master's in Business Administration is advantageous.

Experience

• 5+ years of underwriting experience preferred.

Certifications

• Fellow, Chartered Insurance Institute (FCII)
