Job Description

We are seeking a proactive Freight Coordinator to join our growing team in Johannesburg. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the logistics of shipments, ensuring timely deliveries, and optimizing freight costs. The ideal candidate will have excellent organization skills, attention to detail, and experience in coordinating freight operations.

Responsibilities

  • Direct freight activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with warehouse teams to ensure proper inventory levels.
  • Perform risk assessments related to shipping and logistics.
  • Maintain relationships with shipping vendors and negotiate contracts.
  • Assess logistics needs and recommend changes to improve service levels.
  • Prepare and analyze reports related to freight operations.
  • Respond promptly to any shipment inquiries or issues.
  • Ensure that all logistics documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Facilitate communication between internal teams regarding shipments.
  • Monitor industry trends and developments to enhance logistics strategies.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field
  • A Master's degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management is preferred
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in logistics or supply chain coordination
