Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Structural Engineer to join our Johannesburg team. In this role, you will design and oversee the execution of various construction projects, ensuring they meet high standards and specifications. The ideal candidate should be experienced in both new builds and renovations, and possess a strong understanding of materials and structural integrity.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design processes for both new and renovation projects.
• Utilize advanced engineering analysis tools for accurate outcomes.
• Evaluate existing structures for potential upgrades or repairs.
• Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with local building codes.
• Oversee the work of contractors and provide onsite support.
• Engage in continuous learning to stay abreast of technological advancements.
• Document project status and deliver timely reports to stakeholders.
• Contribute to sustainability efforts through innovative design.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 5+ years in designing and managing structural engineering projects

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Revit

Soft Skills

• Team Leadership
• Detail-oriented

Certifications

• LEED Accredited Professional
• Certified Structural Engineer (CSE)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Understanding of Local Building Codes: Familiarity with South African building regulations and compliance.
