Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Structural Engineer to join our Johannesburg team. In this role, you will design and oversee the execution of various construction projects, ensuring they meet high standards and specifications. The ideal candidate should be experienced in both new builds and renovations, and possess a strong understanding of materials and structural integrity.

Responsibilities

• Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring efficiency.
• Communicate clearly with clients regarding project specifications.
• Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with design specifications.
• Prepare project timelines and budget forecasts for management approval.
• Innovate with new materials and construction techniques to enhance projects.
• Establish and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
• Ensure quality of work through oversight and evaluations.
• Support the evaluation and selection of subcontractors and suppliers.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 5+ years in designing and managing structural engineering projects

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Revit

Soft Skills

• Team Leadership
• Detail-oriented

Certifications

• LEED Accredited Professional
• Certified Structural Engineer (CSE)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Understanding of Local Building Codes: Familiarity with South African building regulations and compliance.
• Advanced Software Skills: Experience with advanced structural modeling software like Tekla Structures.
