Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled Traffic Engineer to join our vibrant team in Johannesburg. This role involves designing and implementing effective traffic solutions, ensuring road safety, and optimizing traffic flow. The ideal candidate should have a robust understanding of traffic engineering principles and be experienced in working on large-scale projects.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate existing road networks for capacity and safety improvements.
  • Lead calculations for traffic signal designs and configurations.
  • Conduct field studies to assess traffic issues and user behavior.
  • Draft traffic management plans for events and developments.
  • Liaise with engineering teams on integrated transportation solutions.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in traffic engineering.
  • Mentor junior traffic engineers and support their professional development.
  • Prepare detailed documentation for traffic studies and engineering reports.
  • Advocate for pedestrian, cyclist, and public transport accessibility.
  • Assist in the development of environmental assessments for projects.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Master's degree in Urban Planning is an advantage
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in traffic and transportation engineering
