Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Art Gilder to join our creative team at the Art Restoration Gallery. In this role, you will be responsible for applying gold leaf and other metal leaf finishes to various art pieces including frames, furniture, and sculptures. Your meticulous attention to detail will help us maintain the beauty and integrity of each artwork.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces thoroughly for gold plating, including sanding and priming.
  • Apply decorative finishes like gold leaf on various art pieces.
  • Ensure that all surfaces are clean and polished post-gilding.
  • Coordinate with team members for effective project management.
  • Assist in choosing suitable paints or stains for finish applications.
  • Accurately estimate project costs and materials needed.
  • Communicate regularly with clients about their expectations.
  • Maintain collaboration with team to ensure quality outputs.
  • Keep work areas well-maintained and organized.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
  • 5 years of experience in gilding or a related field
