Legal Advisor

Job Description

As a Legal Advisor at our firm, you will play a critical role in advising clients on legal matters. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload, offering legal opinions, and representing clients in negotiations. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented and possesses excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary legal advisor for various client matters.
• Engage in strategic planning for risk management.
• Review and update internal policies to ensure legal compliance.
• Coordinate with external legal counsel when necessary.
• Advise on employment law matters and policies.
• Assist in the resolution of disputes and claims.
• Prepare legal opinions and memos for clients.

Requirements

Education

• LLB with Honors or similar qualification
• Postgraduate diploma in legal practice is preferred

Experience

• 5-7 years of relevant experience in corporate and commercial law

Technical Skills

• Corporate Governance
• Commercial Law

Soft Skills

• Negotiation
• Team Leadership

Certifications

• Certified Compliance Professional (CCP)
• Project Management Qualification is advantageous

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic

• Knowledge of international law and trade: Understanding of legal aspects concerning international business.
• Experience in corporate mergers and acquisitions: Involvement in M&A processes and transactions.
