Responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments on applications to decide on premiums.
• Work closely with the sales team to assist in policy placements.
• Develop and implement underwriting policies and procedures.
• Participate in training and mentorship programs for junior underwriters.
• Monitor industry trends to inform underwriting practices.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless client experience.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Economics or Risk Management

Experience

• 5 years of experience in insurance or finance roles

Technical Skills

• Underwriting Software Experience
• Insurance Regulations Knowledge

Certifications

• Fellowship in Life Management Institute (FLMI)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in Commercial Insurance Underwriting: Previous experience in commercial insurance will be an added advantage.
