Compliance Officer

Job Description

We are currently looking for a Compliance Officer in Johannesburg who can develop, implement, and oversee compliance policies and procedures. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of regulatory requirements and can effectively manage compliance risk. You will be expected to conduct audits and promote a culture of compliance throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

• Oversee compliance with laws and regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify compliance risk areas.
• Lead compliance audits and respond to findings.
• Coordinate with different departments to ensure compliance.
• Facilitate compliance training sessions for staff.
• Ensure policies are updated to reflect current regulations.
• Assist in the development of compliance strategies.
• Maintain records of compliance activities and audits.
• Report compliance matters to senior management.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for compliance issues.

Requirements

Education

• Degree in Compliance, Law, or Finance

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in compliance management or related field

Certifications

• Certified Compliance Professional (CCP)
• Certified Risk Manager (CRM)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Certification in risk management: Possession of professional certification in risk management is a plus.
• Experience with audit preparation: Previous experience with internal audit preparation and response.
