Job Description

We are looking for a proactive and skilled Veterinary Surgeon to join our team in Johannesburg. You will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a variety of animal illnesses and injuries. Your expertise will make a significant impact on the quality of care we provide to our furry patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics and interpret laboratory results.
• Lead a team of veterinary staff to ensure optimal care.
• Evaluate new treatment methods and technologies.
• Advise managers on operational improvements.
• Ensure all equipment is maintained and operational.
• Foster relationships with clients for long-term care.
• Set and achieve clinic performance goals.
• Mentor junior veterinarians and staff.
• Manage inventory of medical supplies and medications.
• Participate in continuing education and training opportunities.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine
• DVM or equivalent qualification is essential

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in a veterinary role

• Anesthesia Administration
• Emergency Care

• Problem Solving

Certifications

• SAVC Registration
• Specialisation in Surgery or Internal Medicine is a plus

Languages

• English: Fluent
