Pharmacy Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician in Durban to support our healthcare team. You will assist in dispensing medications, maintaining inventory, and providing excellent customer service to patients.

Responsibilities

• Administer medication therapy management under pharmacist supervision.
• Conduct medication reconciliation for patients.
• Assist in the implementation of pharmacy programs.
• Train and guide new staff members as required.
• Participate in health promotion and education activities.

Requirements

Education

• Degree in Pharmacy is preferred

Experience

• 2+ years in a hospital or retail pharmacy environment

• Medication Management
• Pharmacy Software Proficiency

Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Languages

• Zulu: Conversational
• English: Fluent

• Experience with medication compounding: Skills in preparing customized medications for patients.
• Bilingual in English and Afrikaans: Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse patient population.
