Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a Structural Engineer to join our team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will possess a firm grounding in structural design principles, demonstrating expertise in analyzing and designing a variety of structures. You will collaborate with architects and project managers to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design projects from conception to completion.
• Integrate sustainable practices into engineering solutions.
• Conduct risk assessments and design for extreme loading conditions.
• Collaborate on multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex projects.
• Maintain project documentation and manage quality assurance processes.
• Work with construction teams to resolve field issues as they arise.
• Communicate design concepts effectively to clients and stakeholders.
• Continuously improve engineering practices and methodologies.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering
• Master's degree is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of relevant experience in the structural engineering field

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Construction Specifications

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Conversational
