Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Johannesburg. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will design and develop mechanical systems, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in production operations. The ideal candidate will bring a strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and the ability to solve complex engineering problems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement new mechanical designs.
• Perform simulations and tests to validate design concepts.
• Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are feasible.
• Provide technical support during the production process.
• Log and manage project timelines and budgets.
• Engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate with external vendors and contractors.
• Document engineering processes and changes.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering

Technical Skills

• SolidWorks
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Project Management Software

Soft Skills

Certifications

• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng)
• Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with CAD software: Previous experience using CAD software for mechanical design is preferred.
• Knowledge of Industry Standards: Familiarity with ISO and ASME standards relevant to mechanical engineering.
