We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg. In this role, you'll develop, design, and implement complex mechanical systems, contributing your expertise to ensure optimal performance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering principles, including thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and materials science.

Responsibilities

• Lead design reviews and project status meetings.
• Manage project budgets and timelines effectively.
• Implement engineering best practices and standards.
• Conduct market research to identify new technologies.
• Coordinate with suppliers for materials and production guidance.
• Support manufacturing through troubleshooting during production.
• Prepare and present design proposals to stakeholders.
• Enhance product efficiency through innovative engineering solutions.
• Document patentable ideas and innovations.
• Attend industry conferences to stay abreast of latest trends.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in advanced mechanical engineering roles

Technical Skills

• ProE/Creo
• CATIA

Certifications

• Six Sigma Green Belt

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic
