Quality Assurance Engineer

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a quality-focused Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of software quality by developing comprehensive test plans and conducting extensive testing procedures. You will work closely with the development team to ensure quality assurance principles are integrated throughout the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement testing frameworks.
• Perform exploratory testing to identify issues not covered by test cases.
• Maintain and update automated test scripts as needed.
• Conduct root cause analysis of defects and recommend solutions.
• Train and mentor junior QA team members.
• Contribute to the quality assurance community through knowledge sharing.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field
• Master's degree is a plus

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in a QA role, preferably in a technology environment

Technical Skills

• API Testing
• Mobile Testing

Soft Skills

• Critical Thinking
• Adaptability

Certifications

• Certified Agile Tester (CAT)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Previous experience in a startup environment: Experience working in a fast-paced startup culture.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms: Knowledge of cloud services such as AWS or Azure.
