We are seeking a skilled Translation Specialist to join our dynamic team in Pietermaritzburg. The successful candidate will play a key role in translating various documents, ensuring linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance. This position requires proficiency in multiple languages, exceptional attention to detail, and a passion for effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide language guidance and cultural insights to enhance translation quality.
• Work closely with other linguists and specialists to deliver comprehensive translations.
• Perform quality assurance checks on completed translations.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in translation.
• Handle multiple projects while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
• Engage in continuous learning and attend relevant workshops or courses.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Translation Sciences or a relevant field
• Certification in Translation or a related qualification is preferred

Experience

• At least 3 years of professional translation experience

Technical Skills

• Proficient in CAT tools
• Understanding of localization processes

Soft Skills

• Critical thinking
• Interpersonal skills

Certifications

• ProZ Certified Translator

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with legal translation: Experience in translating contracts or legal documents is a plus.
• Project management skills: Able to handle translation projects from start to finish.
