Job Description

As a Construction Manager in our Durban office, you will take the lead on various construction projects. Your role will involve monitoring project progress, ensuring effective resource management, and maintaining strict compliance with safety protocols. Your expertise will contribute to the delivery of successful projects in a challenging and rewarding environment.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate construction activities, ensuring safety and quality standards.
• Collaborate with engineers and architects to define project specifications.
• Develop detailed project schedules and ensure timely completion.
• Manage procurement and ensure materials are delivered on time.
• Facilitate meetings with clients and stakeholders to discuss progress.
• Document all project changes and maintain accurate records.
• Train and mentor junior staff and apprentices.
• Ensure environmental compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare progress reports for senior management.
• Manage conflicts and negotiations between contractors and clients.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
• Higher Diploma in Project Management is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years in construction management with successful project delivery

Technical Skills

• Cost Estimation Software
• Building Codes and Regulations

• Negotiation

Certifications

• Registered Construction Manager (RCM)
• First Aid Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
