Job Description

As a Shoe Machine Operator, you will be responsible for customising and repairing various types of footwear to meet customer preferences. You will work closely with clients to address their needs while maintaining high-quality standards in your craft.

Responsibilities

• Conduct repair work on different types of footwear including leather and synthetic materials.
• Consult with clients to better understand their requirements and preferences.
• Utilize cutting-edge machinery for precise and effective repairs.
• Keep accurate records of repairs and customizations done for clients.
• Pack and deliver finished products to customers in a timely manner.
• Train new operators on machinery and best practices for shoe dressing.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss process improvements and customer feedback.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an apprenticeship or vocational training in shoemaking is preferred.

Experience

• At least 2 years of experience in shoemaking or a related field.

Technical Skills

• Leatherworking tools

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Conversational

Advantageous

• Knowledge of different leather types: Understanding the characteristics of various leather types used in shoemaking.
