Job Description

We are looking for an Urban Renewal Coordinator to drive strategic urban regeneration projects in Durban. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of urban planning principles and a passion for community engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate urban renewal initiatives in line with municipal objectives.
  • Engage with community members and organizations to foster collaboration.
  • Assess the social and economic impacts of urban regeneration projects.
  • Provide leadership during project meetings and workshops.
  • Document and archive project progress for future reference.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor development and community feedback.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the agency and external partners.
  • Support the development of urban design strategies.
  • Analyze data related to demographics and urban growth.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on urban planning trends.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Urban Studies or Public Administration
  • Master's degree is a plus
Experience
  • 4+ years of experience in urban renewal or related fields
