Job Description

We are seeking an AI Research Scientist to join our innovative team in Durban. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in machine learning, deep learning, and data analysis, with a passion for pushing the boundaries of AI technology.

Responsibilities

• Investigate advancements in AI and apply them to our product offerings.
• Work with data scientists to enhance data collection and preprocessing methods.
• Design experiments to evaluate the effectiveness of AI solutions.
• Collaborate with external partners for joint research.
• Document and share project outcomes with the team and broader community.
• Contribute to open-source AI projects to foster collaboration within the community.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science or similar field

Experience

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in AI and ML

• R Programming

Certifications

• Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP): Hands-on experience in NLP for text analytics and understanding.
• Familiarity with reinforcement learning: Knowledge of developing algorithms that can learn from and adapt to their environment.
